KANO WORLD AVATARS
2020
In 2020 I took the chance to redesign the avatars for Kano World. I knew our users took pride in how they represented themselves online, and I wanted to be able to reflect the diversity of our userbase by giving them new avatars. The users of Kano World range around 7 - 14, so I worked hard on making sure that the designs could be both cute and fun, whilst also being trendy and a little bit quirky too.
The new avatars also allowed us to incentivise learning. Every tutorial pack comes with an exclusive item for your avatar, so you’re rewarded for your hard work. This was also a technical improvement on the previous system; I worked closely with engineers to implement a Content Management System for the avatars so adding new items could be done quickly and easily.
